Over the past 20 years an estimated
65,000 people have lost their lives. Each one leaves behind
the tragedy of a family mourning and in deep distress. Many
of those killed ware personnel from our Armed Services who gave
their lives unselfishly.
Others were left with shattered bodies and tortured minds. People
who have had to pick up their lives and who could easily have
become deeply embittered by their experience. Instead in an
equally unselfish way the members of the Association of Disabled
Ex-Service Personnel continue to stand for the interest of their
country and supported whole heartedly the quest for peace through
the Permanent Ceasefire Agreement and a negotiated settlement.
The Association continues its work in promoting peace, as any
group would who have experienced the cruelty of war. Those who
have suffered are the most determined to seek peace. Through
the launch of their web site they endeavor to reach and persuade
a new group of people of the benefits of peace. I am very honored
to be associated with the Association and with this Web Site.
I hope that you the reader will take the time to investigate
the web site and learn from those people who know best about
the advantages of peace. |
