It is with great pleasure I send
my greetings to the Association of Disabled Ex-Service Personnel
at the inauguration of their web-site.
I have been associated with the President of ADEP Mr. Asoka
Dayaratna for a considerable period and we have been together
in the very front of the Peace Process. When I initiated the
Solo - U movement, ADEP stood by my side to take the message
of peace throughout Sri Lanka.
The patriotic servicemen who have fought in this cruel war with
all the weapons at their command are now convinced that the
war is death and peace is life. They have sacrificed life and
limb for a cause when others have never tried to eradicate war
and bring in peace.
Realizing the suffering undergone by the members of ADEP we
have accommodated them in the Grameen Bank Loan scheme. We have
been able to give one of the Millennium Houses costing 1.8 million
to a soldier who is completely blind. We have donated a swimming
pool worth 5.0 million to the inmates of the Kuruwita Army Camp.
They deserve to be looked after as they have suffered for the
sake of our country.
I wish them all success when they are going into a Web-site.
